The Singapore Students Association at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign strives to provide our community of over 120 Singaporean undergraduates, graduates, postgraduates, and alumnus a home away from home.
Regular get-together makan sessions are arranged for all members, and non-Singaporeans are also welcomed!
For our international friends, "makan" is the Malay word for "eat", which has been absorbed into the national interlingual dialect known as "Singlish".
To our incoming freshmen or transfer exchangees, congratulations on your admission, and welcome to UIUC! Here are some resources that you may find useful before coming to UIUC, in preparation for your departure, and during your time in Champaign-Urbana.
